Grunge Paper Rose...

I would like to say sorry that I unable to snap the photo while I was doing the rose, firstly I was too excited, secondly my hands are so dirty to touch on my camera...and thirdly I think I need to hire a camera man...hahaha

Anyway I will share with you how Tom Holtz made his and please click HERE to get the steps and you can make your own roses...

I do not have many flowers stamp and specially those with 6 petals...when I wanted to give up I saw that I have a clear stamp from Hero Arts...and hey...after counting it has 6 petals... :)

I stamp 3 images on the grunge paper the cut it out. It is easy to cut, just follow the lines.

After that I spray with Tattered Angels...as you know I have many colours of them...so I just spray and spray and spray...mixing with many blue, red and brown tone of colours.

And the picture shown are the after I have completed the "cocktail mixing"...

Here is the close up wet look of the flower. Tim Holtz used the perfect pearls and distress re-inker...but I found out that using Tattered Angels will save lots of hassles...easy that applied the distress ink with a sponge...just spray and spray...heheheh...

For the rest of the steps, I just follow his instruction and here it is...the rose...

I follow Tim Holtz to apply a layer of Rock Candy as the touch up and the rose will stay on glossy and shinning...

I really like the grunge paper...It so durable than normal paper...start to make your own now...

In Love with Grunge Paper...

I just bought the Tim Holtz's Grunge Paper from Made With Love so today I made it into 3D flowers and butterflies on my altered notebook.

Immediately I fall in love with this grunge paper and it is so easy to use. I like the texture of the paper as it was so easy to shape the petals of the flowers and it more durable than normal paper. No wonder so many people use this for flower embellishment.

I bought a new note book from bookshop and I turn into this as a birthday gift for Jill. I used the paper from DCWV-Rustic stack and as you know I like this stack a lot.

After I stamped the flowers and butterflies on the grunge paper, I used distress ink to colour them and shaped them into the way that I want.

Letters used are from QuicKutz Diesel and stamps are mostly from Hero Arts.

These flowers stamp is a free stamp from Crafty Stamper magazine...I like this magazine and it a must have magazine every month :)

Background stamp is from Hero Art...

And finally I spray the Tattered Angels - Pearl to complete the whole creation.

I hope she like this little gift that I made for her.

Mod Podge Project - Door Hanger

Using the latest clear stamp from Hero Arts to decorate this door hanger. These series of stamps is so fun to play with and you can create lot of interesting project.

I choose to use the pattern paper from Graphic 45 for this distress project.

Distress inks used are Mustard Seed, Dried Marigold and Broken China.

This is the door hanger chipboard that I bought from Spotlight.

Only at $1.75 each...good deal right?

I used the All Purpose Ink from Tsukineko to paint the edge just to cover the wood base colour.

The back.

The front side before the layout. Once you glue the pattern paper on to the door hanger, don't forget to sand all the edges so that you will gave the smooth surface at the cutting edge.

After completed all the layout, I paint the crackle paint onto the wording and do a mess spray of the Tattered Angel...pearl is the most ideal colour to choose for final touch up.

Mod Podge Project - Recycle Empty Toilet Paper Roll

This is very simple and easy to made...

I have the idea to reuse it when I saw this empty toilet paper roll...I just wanna turn into something that I can use or as a decoration.

After searching through the net, I finally got the idea of turning this empty roll into a memo card holder.

I started to sketch the design and layout...in just a few mins I have my sketch done as well as choosing the pattern papers, embellishments and techniques.

I choose to use the pattern paper from DCWV - Rustic, this series really very good in doing distress.

Before I start, I distress the 2 edges with a metal ruler...

Crush the paper into a ball...

Reopen the paper to get the wrinkles

Direct apply the distress ink onto the pattern paper

I used Vintage Photo distress ink and you can see the wrinkles more clearly

I start to stamp the background, I choose to use the wordings and clocks, both are from Hero Arts

I stamp the wordings stamp with Versafine Vintage Sepia and after that follow by the clocks with Versafine Onyx Black.

I cut another clock from Graphic 45 pattern paper and attached it onto one of the clock to make it more 3D effect.

I secured it with diamond brad and giving some space in between so that the clock can move freely

After that use the Mod Podge to glue the pattern paper to the empty roll

And here is the end result

I spray lots of different colors of the Tattered Angels on the surface...you can see pink, purple, gold, pearl...it shine under the light

This two butterflies are from Hero Arts and I color them with color pencil, the effect came out as good as using copic...so happy. I applied a layer of clear crackle paint from Ranger on the butterflies and the moving clock.

The last step you need to do is use a big pen knife make a cut on top of the roll so that you can slip the memo card in.

That is...simple and easy...go green ne...

So what you need to do is...next time collect more empty roll and turn them into beautiful craft piece for yourself or as a gift.

I was thinking of putting this on my office work desk, if not then might think of giving away as a gift...just wonder...who wants it ne... *wink*

Mod Podge Project

This box was given by one of my colleague and I have been keeping this for quite sometime. Recently I join the fans of Mod Podge in Facebook and I saw lots of fabulous work from all around the world.

I started this project as I wanted to give it to one of my friend, this is a kind like a small gift for her and I hope that she will like it.

I have been very lazy and tired recently...maybe due to some body hormone changes :)

I bought these paper flowers and leaves from Art Republic, this shop is the new shop that just open recently at Novena Square 3rd level. They have those self packing lose flowers and leave so I'm not too sure which brand they belong to.

I like these roses...is a 3D effect and they blend well with the leaves and I bought together.

I bought the swirl pearl from Art Republic and this is from Prima, quite a reasonable price and it is very easy to use. Again I used lots of butterflies, some are from Graphic 45 pattern paper and the big one is from QuicKutz.

For the base pattern paper, I used lots of Tattered Angels to spray for the distress look, add on I apply layers and layers of distress ink. For finishing, I touch up with Rock Candy the clear Distress Crackle Paint on top the pattern paper and butterflies. Lastly I coated with different colours of Stickles from Ranger and All Purpose Ink from Tsukineko.

Dear friend, I hope you like the surprise that I give to you ♥...

Hand in Hand

This Scrapbook is for Andrew's parent. I use the title of Hand in Hand cos daddy is holding mummy's hand....so sweet.

I used the two different alphabet for the wording here and they just perfectly matched...the "HAND" here I used Diesel from QuicKutz and the "hand" is Yogurt from QuicKutz too.

The 3-D butterflies are from Graphic 45's pattern paper, two are just nice here. I lifted the page higher so that when I place it in the shadow box it will gives the 3-D effect.

I did some distressing and stampig here to make the title more outstanding.

And this is how it looks like when placing the page in the Shadow Box.
Mother & Son

Andrew asked me to help him do the scrapbook for his mother as a Christmas Gift, I have to complete this as soon as possible so that he can bring back to his home town during Christmas.

I just like the whole feeling of this scrapbook page that I did. I used lot of clock here and this is to remind him that he needs to treasure the love from his mother and spend more time with his mother as he can.

Mother's love is being words and I hope that auntie will like this master piece.

This is the complete work in the shadow box.
X'mas Gift for Slumber Party...

I used this empty to decorate it like a wrapper, meaning is after I decorate it, there is no need to warp the box again and I can give the gift to the person who I have selected her name before.

These are what I bought for her, they are two beautiful mag from Tangs and I just like the mag, one is the handbags and the other one is the evening dresses... I hope that she will like it.

Yes, these are the picture of the turnover of the empty box. I use distress inks, pattern paper from Basic Grey, Prima Flowers, and of course the QuicKutz dies to cut out the flourish shapes and alphabets.

This is really a good idea so that she can reuse the box instead of throwing away and also I have save one wrapping paper. Save the earth...

Cheers...
